1, 2004 was the date for swearing in the city and town officials. Peggy
is seen with Sandy Hash, the
re-elected Clerk for the Town of Ellettsville. |

February 2004: Shirley Stumpner, Director
of Infant and Child Development Services, and Vicky Sorensen, Program
Director, represented the Monroe County Healthy Families Program
at the statehouse when the program received its credentials from
Healthy Families Indiana. |

February 2004: Peggy and David had the privilege
of attending a dinner with Lloyd Ogilvie, the recently retired
chaplain of the United States Senate, and Judy O'Bannon, immediate
past First Lady of Indiana. |

the women's legislative caucus, of which Peggy was President. |

2004: At the annual Point of Youth
conference, Senator Brandt Hershman (R-Monticello) and Peggy shared
what it is like to be a legislator. Here Brandt and Peggy

2004: Eastern Greene High School seniors
traveled to Indianapolis to tour their state capitol. Peggy
had the privilege of speaking to them in the House of Representatives
chambers. This was the second time for Peggy to be with these
students, as she goes each September to the government and economics
classes at Eastern Greene. |

2004: Hoosiers are frequently honored
with a legislative resolution. Coach Jerry Yeagley, his coaching
staff, and the 2003 IU soccer team were honored for the NCAA national
championship. Coach Yeagley was also honored for his many
years of service to IU and the game of soccer. |

2004: Groups frequently visit the
statehouse to help legislators understand their issues. Representative
Matt Pierce and Peggy are with representatives of Stone Belt. |

February 2004: Recently, many of Indiana's
National Guard troops returned home from Iraq. Peggy had the
privilege of being the mistress of ceremonies for the return home
celebration in Linton. |

March 2004: Kelly Jewett, an Ivy Tech Bloomington student, was
honored at the annual recognition luncheon for Phi Theta Kappa
All-Indiana Academic Teams for Two-Year Colleges. Peggy was the
keynote speaker at the luncheon in Indianapolis. Pictured with

2004: During the 2004 session, Representative Matt Pierce, Senator
Vi Simpson, and Peggy honored Jill’s House and its board of
directors with a legislative resolution. Peggy met some members of
the board at the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute (MPRI) to
present the formal resolution, which the board is planning on framing
for use in the MPRI waiting room. |

2004: When Secretary of the Navy Gordon England toured Crane Naval
Surface Warfare Center he helped witness the signing of a memorandum
of understanding between Crane and the Indiana National Guard. The
MOU will allow an exchange relationship for use of military property

| March 2004: The Exchange Club of Ellettsville invited Peggy to
be a speaker at one of the meetings. Peggy is pictured with Kenny

Monroe, Greene, and Brown Counties to help students understand their

| March 2004: Peggy traveled to Ft. Wayne to hold a press conference
with Senator Tom Wyss. Senator Wyss and Peggy worked together for
the passage of the Child Restraint bill. |

| Former Indiana US Senator Birch Bayh was honored
by Indiana University on the 30 year anniversary of Title IX. At
a dinner celebrating the occasion, Peggy asked Senator Bayh to autograph
the autobiography of his first wife, Marvella, who died of cancer.
In 1998, Peggy had Birch and Marvella’s son, Evan, autograph
the book. |

| April 2004: Max Cleland, former Georgia US Senator,
recently spoke at the Indiana Jefferson Jackson Day Dinner. Max is
a long-time family friend. Pictured with Max, is Peggy, David, Ingelore
Welch, and Nancy Ross, Max’s fiancée. |

| April 2004: Peggy had the honor of being involved
with a group of women who each year host the "Learning to Live
Women's Health Workshop". At the workshop, the Women's Healthcare
Advocate Award is given to a person or group who promote health for
women in the Bloomington area. The 2004 winner was Mujeres en Conexión.
Peggy is pictured with several women who are members of the Board
of Directors for MEC. Also pictured is Carol Seaman, one of the founders
